CU Kickstarter Updates

Out of curiosity, has anyone been reading the Kickstarter Updates for CU?
If so, is it just me or are the lore stories leaving a little bit to be desired? They come across as forced and superficial and it's bugging the crap out of me.
Maybe I'm too used to being separated from such early stages of game development but I've come to just ignore the updates now and have adopted a "wait and see" approach until next year to see the progress.
